Web Cleaning System

Neutralizes and cleans any web in a single operation

The AutoStat Web Cleaning System

A major deterrent to the efficient removal of foreign particles is static electricity. Generated during the manufacturing process, the field associated with an electrostatic charge draws airborne contamination onto a web. Then, electrostatic polarization takes place forming a bond between base material and contaminant. Once the electrostatic bonding takes place, it is virtually impossible to brush or blow away the foreign particles. The only effective method of breaking this bond is through the use of static neutralization in conjunction with a properly designed web cleaning system.

Electro Static's Web Cleaning System utilizes ionizing air jets to neutralize static electricity. This eliminates the electrostatic field; thus polarization, releasing contaminants for instant vacuum cleaning in one highly efficient action. It thoroughly neutralizes and cleans any web in a single operation, the first time through. The system is designed to eliminate the need for prolonged, repetitive cleaning, removing virtually 100% of all contaminants, outperforming all other existing methods. Electro Static's design engineers can customize equipment to meet your special size and space requirements.

How the System Works

  • Many applications require a web cleaning system that contacts the surface to be cleaned, i.e., tag/label printing, die cutting/punching and laminating. Electro Static's narrow web high-velocity fixed brush vacuum system is the most advanced, most efficient product available today. Performance guaranteed.
  • The web enters the vacuum hood assembly and is lightly contacted by a soft brush. This brushing action takes place while under the influence of ionizing air jets. This combination of ionization, air jets and brush neutralizes the static charge on both the material being processed and the contaminant. This prepares the loose particulate for pick up by the vacuum section. Should there be any residual foreign material remaining, it will be captured by a second combination which will insure virtually 100% cleaning.

System Consists of:

  • Hood Assemblies complete with air jets, brushes, static neutralizers.
  • 1 - Power Supply (for static neutralizers), including cable.
  • 1 - Air Filter / Regulator
  • 1 - Vacuum Collector, 115 VA with 10 feet of flexible Hose
  • Regenerative Blower
  • "Y" Fitting
  • Blast Gate Valve
  • Dust Collecting Systems with in-line filter and mounting brackets.

Electro Static's has added in house testing system.

The Determinator Test rig will determine the electrostatic nature on customers material including the size and distribution of the surface contamination.
The function of the test rig is to determine the efficiency of Electro Static's equipment on customers materials before purchasing a web/sheet cleaning systems, static control equipment or electrostatic charging devices.
One pass through the Test Rig, the material becomes virtually static free - as proven by a certified field meter  - particulate size and distribution is proven by a surface particle counter.
